Our Story
Every media agency claims to balance brand and performance, but few actually pull it off.
Founders William Durrant, Talia Arnold, and Jack Win started Exverus in 2014 after a decade each at agencies that treated media planning and buying as separate siloes, and treated people as disposable. They built Exverus around 4 core values: truth, passion, service, and creativity. They believed senior people should stay on accounts instead of handing them off, and that a culture encouraging employees' lives outside of work produces better results and happier people.
In the early days, Exverus was known as a brand-building agency, but over the years, we've built a powerful performance engine: robust retail media and e-commerce departments, an in-house programmatic trading desk, paid search and social teams that made us an official Google Partner and Meta Business Partner, and sophisticated data analytics. We're an independent, full-funnel media agency punching way above our weight class.
That's why growth-stage, challenger brands and Fortune 500 brands alike trust us with their biggest marketing challenges. It's why we've earned 3 Ad Age Agency of the Year Awards, 8 ADWEEK Media Plan of the Year Awards, and landed on the Inc. 5000 three times, under a leadership team that's 73% women or people of color.
In 2025, Exverus was acquired by Brainlabs, an independent, AI-native media agency with the same people-first culture and tech-enabled agility. The acquisition didn't change how we operate, it only multiplied our capabilities. We're now integrated with Brainlabs' Cortex AI system, which models outcomes across budget allocation, targeting, and bidding, the kind of modeling once reserved for holding-company clients.
Exverus means "from the truth." Over a decade in, that's still our guiding principle.
